I specialise in managing long-form investigative documentaries around the world, particularly in hostile environments. With ten years at Exec Producer / Editor level, I’m adept at dealing with very high levels of risk and complex investigative issues.
I established from scratch both of the World Service’s award-winning TV documentary strands, spending seven years following the uprisings across the Middle East. During that time I produced on the ground in Tunisia, Syria and Iraq as well as commissioning over 90 docs following the twists and turns of this historic period.
More recently as Editor of Africa Eye I’ve commissioned hard-access and undercover documentaries that have helped to change laws in Nigeria, released prisoners from illegal detention centres in Kenya and held soldiers to account for murder in Cameroon.
Currently, I’m setting up two new investigative and documentary units concentrating on Asia and Eastern Europe.
