Steve Ahern is an internationally recognised broadcasting and new media specialist, communications industry leader and business management consultant. He is the author of several publications, including the text book Making Radio, published by Allen & Unwin, and is the proprietor of the radio industry trade publications www.AsiaRadioToday.com and www.RadioInfo.com.au.

Before founding Ahern Media & Training Pty Ltd and the International Media & Broadcasting Academy (IMBA), he was the Director of Radio at the Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS), a radio broadcaster and a senior executive at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

In a 35-year career, Steve has helped found a number of start up companies and has steered the boards of media and communications companies around the world to success. He is currently a board member of the Community Broadcasting Foundation and has previously been of the boards of various NGOs, and commercial companies.

Steve was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the 2009 Queen’s Birthday honours list for his contribution to media and training.
