Liz Baker is the Director of Humanity United’s Independent Journalism and Media program. She leads HU’s strategy and partnerships with journalism and media organizations around the world.
Previously, she managed media relations in HU’s Washington, DC office and led communications for the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST). Liz is the former Chief Communications Officer at the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC), an organization working to make warring parties more responsible to civilians. She also spent six years at Oxfam, leading U.S. media coverage on humanitarian emergencies around the world and managing communications in Oxfam America’s Horn of Africa regional office.
