Marcela Turati is an independent journalist in Mexico. In 2016, she co-founded Quinto Elemento Lab, an independent investigative news outlet which also mentors journalists. Since 2008 she has been focusing her work investigating the human toll in the Mexican “drug war”, enforced disappearances, massacre of immigrants and threats against journalists. In 2006, she co-founded “Periodistas de a Pie”, an organization that promoted security trainings and networking among journalists.
