Vinod K. Jose is the executive editor of The Caravan, an independent, watchdog media outlet and India’s first long-form narrative journalism magazine. The magazine has covered in-depth the rise of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), India’s most powerful right-wing Hindu-nationalist organization, and exposed numerous scandals in India, many involving the government of current Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Jose is an alumnus of Columbia Journalism School, New York and he has a PhD in sociology from Jamia Millia University, New Delhi. Before joining the Caravan, Jose worked as a field producer in South Asia for American public radio stations, including Pacifica Radio and NPR. Previously, he was the founding editor of the Malayalam-language publication Free Press.
